You walk into a room and see someone talking.... And then it hits you, you have experienced this moment before! I am sure that allot of us have been in such a situation. However, there is a scientific explanation for this too! Many scientists believe that this is some sort of a short circuit or a malfunction in our brain. Theory #1: There are many theories surrounding this phenomenon. The first one revolves around the concept of familiarity. The fact that the brain might confuse it with something that we are familiar with instead of something that we remember distinctly. Theory # 2: 🔬 The other theory is about delay processing in the brain! The fact that the brain might process the signal twice, hence making us feel like we have seen or experienced the situation before. Overall, the cause of Déjà Vu is still disputed upon. With many scientific theories trying to back it up, it is still something that science needs to completely decode. Anyways that's all for today! Com...
What don't they tell you about attempting information packed IGCSE exams? 💖
So, IGCSE exams are the very first international exams a student sits in.
I felt extremely nervous when I first sat in these exams.
And I focused so much on the content; that I paid no heed to the past papers.
Time Yourself:
- How much time is required to finish the exam? 😓 Gradually restrict yourself to a specific and narrow timeframe.
- Many of my friends attempted only 75% of their paper and left behind the other 15%. This was because they inefficiently utilized their time and therefore, I suggest that you don't make the same mistake.
Focus on the concept not content:
- Even if this means that you act like you are teaching a class of younger students, who will not understand your complicated vocabulary.
- Focusing on the content only was a huge mistake when, I first set out to attempt the exam.
- Why was that so? Because I thought everything in the syllabus would come in the exam.
- By this statement, I mean that try to do as much past papers as you can because the examiner often forms tricky statements. Even when students know the answer, they often find it quite difficult to articulate their response...... if you know what I mean.
- Ensure that you maximize your potential by understanding all the concepts and efficiently form a strong linkage between each topic.
