Why do we experience Déjà Vu ? 😲

You walk into a room and see someone talking.... And then it hits you, you have experienced this moment before! I am sure that allot of us have been in such a situation. However, there is a scientific explanation for this too!  Many scientists believe that this is some sort of a short circuit or a malfunction in our brain. Theory #1: There are many theories surrounding this phenomenon. The first one revolves around the concept of familiarity. The fact that the brain might confuse it with something that we are familiar with instead of something that we remember distinctly. Theory # 2: πŸ”¬ The other theory is about delay processing in the brain! The fact that the brain might process the signal twice, hence making us feel like we have seen or experienced the situation before. Overall, the cause of  DΓ©jΓ  Vu is still disputed upon. With many scientific theories trying to back it up, it is still something that science needs to completely decode. Anyways that's all for today! Com...

Science Myths you need to know!!!!

Switching things up.... let´s talk some science :)

Science is a form of interdisciplinary knowledge, and with the new advancements made in this from robots to AI. Allot of myths have been flying across the front pages of newspapers or articles. After having my own share of applying this misinformation to daily life. I bring to you 10 myths surrounding health and science that are not true, so that you don´t accidently stumble upon them and implement upon them.

Myth :If you throw a penny from a tall building it can harm someone

Throwing a penny from the top of a tall building, is very improbable to hit something. Considering that the laws of physics do apply: terminal velocity exists. So the synopsis of all this is that as the penny falls the air resists against it falling and therefore, balances out the force of gravity, thus the constant speed that the penny reaches is known as the terminal velocity of the penny. And I know this sounds very boring, but you have to appreciate physics in this case. Cause I remember how I would actively ask my family member to empty out their pockets before we go outside and sit on the balcony of a restaurant located 1 or more floors above ground. It sounds very vacuous but it was what it was. 🀣

Myth:   Water does conduct electricity

Okay so before you come after me saying that I am spreading myths and that water has ions so it conducts electricity . HEAR ME OUT!!! Yes, water does conduct electricity to some extent due to the presence of ions. However, pure water is not the best conductor of electricity in fact , it is the particles and molecules in the water in impure water like salts and minerals that make it more susceptible to conducting electricity well. (Chemistry lied to me 😒). No, it didn´t it told you the truth it just didn´t gave you in-depth analysis. Pure water doesn´t have enough ions to conduct this electricity in an efficient way.

Myth: Gravity doesn´t exists in space

So, yeah that´s not true. Astronauts are amazing individuals, and they stay afloat in the space, not because there is no gravity, as a matter of fact gravity is everywhere.  That´s what caused all the planets to form in the first place.  The astronauts stay afloat as they are falling constantly. Wait wait wait, that doesn´t make any sense !! Well, let me help you....... when astronauts are in the space  they experience a little less gravity than what we experience at earth. And so they, consistently are pulled towards the Earth , yet since ISS (the international space station) moves sideways, they keep on missing it. This sounds quite intriguing and even peculiar at first but we slowing get to understand how things work, outside the earth.

This is part one of the article... we will continue on with this series with the purpose of reducing mis-information from the internet. Comment down below if you have any suggestions or questions.

As always, Stay happy and healthy :)

What don't they tell you about attempting information packed IGCSE exams? πŸ’–  So, IGCSE exams are the very first international exams a student sits in. I felt extremely nervous when I first sat in these exams. And I focused so much on the content; that I paid no heed to the past papers.  Time Yourself: How much time is required to finish the exam? πŸ˜“ Gradually restrict yourself to a specific and narrow timeframe. Many of my friends attempted only 75% of their paper and left behind the other 15%. This was because they inefficiently utilized their time and therefore, I suggest that you don't make the same mistake. Focus on the concept not content: Even if this means that you act like you are teaching a class of younger students, who will not understand your complicated vocabulary. Focusing on the content only was a huge mistake when, I first set out to attempt the exam. Why was that so? Because I thought everything in the syllabus would come in the exam. By this statement,...
Solutions: πŸ“‘ Questions were uploaded in the previous blog Question 1: Increased in Kinetic energy more collisions between particles per second the energy between particles to collide would be more than the total activation energy Question 2: the rate of forward and backward reaction would be equal the concentration of reactants and products would be the same additional point bur not a part of the answer: equilibrium is performed in a closed system Question 3: Metallic bonding: the electrostatic forces of attraction between the positive ions in the metallic lattice and the sea of electrons Question 4: Electrolysis is the breakdown of ionic compounds into its ionic and molten form through electricity. If you find any mistakes, then comment down below... Or  if you want any additional questions or notes. As always keep sparkling.... πŸ’–
