5 science myths that we all fall for

5 Science Myths:๐ŸŒฟ Science is truly an interesting discipline with many fascinating facts..... However, allot of misinformation is spread on the internet and today we are going to debunk some myths 1)  We Only Use 10% of the Brain - That statement itself is utterly wrong, and science itself denies of it. Brain scans show that we virtually, use almost every part of the brain. Each part of the brain has an individual function.    The 10% brain usage  myth is pure fiction. 2) You should drink 8 glasses of water everyday - That´s a myth, everybody is unique in their own way based on: gender, height, age or weight. Therefore, the amount of water that needs to be consumed varies greatly from person to person.  3) Sugar makes kids hyper - Allot of people associate sugar with boosted activity and extraordinary energy. This is wrong as multiple studies have shown that their is no link between sugar and hyperactivity. The excitement is often situational and not caus...
THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR: The Newschool year; for some it is about to begin whilst for others it has already started. It's a universal truth that at the start of the school year, everyone's brimming with motivation, ready to conquer the academic world and make the most of every resource at their disposal. But why? Just why do we end up so tired and overwhelmed right after 2-3 weeks.  That's because: We encompass the same mindset๐Ÿ˜” Mindset is the key player when it comes to actually doing something. The first two weeks of school put the least amount of workload on the students. It is often; in the middle of the school year that you find yourself surrounded with piles of assignments. One big mistake that we do, is procrastinating or " even worse the art of delaying". Why do I find it so hard to focus or to keep up. Here are 3 reasons why: 1) You are distracted: Remove distractions from your life such as keeping up with the endless scrolling of your phone. 2) You are ove...
Productivity at its best......๐Ÿ˜Ž How to be productive?  Work efficiently throughout the day. Progress to the best my ability. These are the questions that I often asked myself a few months ago. I would watch endless YouTube videos to refine my habits. I realized that most importantly; all I needed was motivation. Being productive comprises of 4 things in total. 1) Motivation: if you do not find it interesting or fun to do, your daily tasks; then motivation is the only thing you can resort to. Surround yourself with motivation, through books, social media and what not. 2)Putting your mind to it: May you believe it or not some people do find planning before starting a whole lot helpful. Why is that so?  Because it's easier to follow a plan that has been already laid out, instead of doing a task on your own pace. 3) Discipline: This is the one thing that, I have seen a lot of study influencers talk about. It is the art of doing something when you do not feel like it. Prett...

Q uestion 1: Explain the mechanism for the movement of water in the xylem vessels. (Difficulty: Medium ) Ans: ๐Ÿ’ฌ When the water evaporates from the areas of the plants, there will be less water in the xylem vessels present   on top .   So, therefore, the top xylem vessels would create a   force  (transpiration pull)   to pull water up from the bottom xylem vessels. Due to this,...

High school opportunities that you need to be aware of: I am quite aware of the fact that it is hard to find an internship specifically those which are available for free because seldom are they not competitive. By this I mean that free internships are often those which are more selective. However, by this statement I do not want to suggest that paid ones are a waste of time. This is just my opinion...... and everyone has an opinion right๐Ÿ˜€ After comprehensive and detailed research, I have managed to compile some of the best internships that I found. I will make a table for this, specifying for who is eligible, what's the cost, is this virtual or an in-person internship. I have mentioned some competitions as well, so they can be a great way to show your passion if you are an ambitious person.  Drumroll please......๐Ÿฅ 1)Medicine Encompassed: Medicine Encompassed is a student-led nonprofit organization, which welcomes high school students from grades 9-12, regardless of their b...
